Since January 1990, ArtFutura, the festival of Digital Culture and Creativity, has explored the most interesting projects and ideas that have come up on the international panorama ofnew media, interactive design, videogames and digital animation.
Throughout its more than 20 years of existence, ArtFutura has been responsible for introducing the latest advances in digital art and design, computer animation, videogames and special effects and has invited a large number of thinkers from a diversity of disciplines to reflect on the social implications of the new technologies. Art Futura 2012, proposes, under the title OUR CULTURE IS DIGITAL, an analysis of our current relationship with digital technologies, both globally and individually, through the contributions of a panel of experts and the works of some of the most prominent creators of the digital art international scene.
The festival will be held in several cities around the globe and once more there is the chance to see “Sahara Wonderland” on a big screen. “Sahara Wonderland” has been selected as a part of the audiovisual program of the festival.
New technologies have radically changed the way we see the world and we observe ourselves. Through the new equipments and recording techniques, we are able now to see the dizzy movements of our cities and to observe the transformation of our bodies with fantastic details.
The new section includes some of the best time-lapse works produced in recent years. Amazing landscapes, extreme perspectives, ingenious music videos and innovative visualization techniques.
Including Ibiza Lights II (Jose A. Hervas), The City Limits (Dominic Boudreault), Sahara Wonderland (Dennis Stauffer), Venice in a Day (Joerg Niggli), The City of Samba (Jarbas Agnelli, Keith Loutit), Stretching (François Vogel), Traffic in Frenetic HCMC (Rob Whitworth), Pure Tuscany (Stefano Tinti), Time of my Life (Dan Hanna), Time is Nothing (Kien Lam), Points in Space (Benjamin Ducroz) and others.
